I..."Nationalisation" is a word with many meanings. I recall the UK "nationalisations" of the late 1940's. In some cases they may have allowed sectors to stabilise in the short term after the effects of WW2, but after that the record was very patchy indeed. Broadly, where the engineers ruled, as with the electricity supply it was one thing. But where the politicians etc. were all too active it was quite another.
