Could it be related ...Is there a fifth possibility? Could it be related to seismic? earthquakes?

Hear me out on this:

I finally found some research on fault lines in the Gulf, this geologist suggested in 2002 that a new fault line extends from the well area north east towards… the Carolina and Virginia.

http://www.aapg.org/explorer/2002/11nov/rift_zone.cfm

Quote: “Reed, a retired Texaco geologist-geophysicist who has been studying the region’s geology for over 40 years, says the accepted theory of a quiet geologic evolution of the Gulf of Mexico Basin is fundamentally flawed and needs to be revised. According to him, the Gulf was and is tectonically active — and it is the likely origin for not only the New Madrid seismic activity, but also for the Middleton Place-Summerville seismic zone near Charleston, S.C”

Look at the map on Reed’s page. Follow those lines NE… straight towards DC? That was reported in 2002.

This 2006 earthquake confirms Reed’s plate lines:

Magnitude 6.0 - GULF OF MEXICO
2006 September 10 14:56:07 UTC

Then, on July 15th 2010 BP caps the Maconda well to watch for ‘seismic activity’ and pressure… the pressure doesnt rise? There are worries of leaks…

Within 12 hours of BP capping the well, we have a 3.6 mag earthquake following the exact line Geologist Reed drew?

That suggests to me that the capping of the well and the earthquake are related?

http://voices.washingtonpost.com/local-breaking-news/dc/mild-earthquake-felt-across-re.html?hpid=dynamiclead

Quote: “At the same time, quakes measuring above 3 are extremely rare in this area. Vaughan said the number of people reporting the quake to the USGS highlighted how unusual it seemed to residents of the Mid-Atlantic states.

Within about two hours of the quake, more than 6,700 people had reported it on the agency’s Web site. Most were from the District, Maryland, Virginia and Delaware, but reports came from as far away as New York and Georgia.”

There was also this quake on the new Madrid line:

Magnitude 2.5 - SOUTHEASTERN MISSOURI
2010 July 16 17:26:20 UTC

It certainly is not being considered in the media? I am no Geologist… just wondering. Coincidental? Thoughts?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-53246864840716464.post-28714752055058366782010-07-18T14:35:12.352-07:002010-07-18T14:35:12.352-07:00Thank you very much, again, for the excellent cove...Thank you very much, again, for the excellent coverage and analysis.

I found a very concerning news clip at the blog site, Clean the Gulf Now, of some independent water testing conducted by an Alabama television station, WKRG. The results indicate oil parts per billion exceeding safe levels.

The results ranged from 16ppm to 221ppm. Children were playing in water contaminated at the upper range. The article reports that 11ppm is considered unsafe.

The link below to Clean the Gulf Now has the video of the testing:
http://cleanthegulfnow.org/archives/independent-gulf-coast-water-testing/#more-651Majia's Bloghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04941091700194936591noreply@blogger.com
