I have be...I heartily endorse this recommendation. I have belonged to employment-related credit unions for 40 years and enjoyed incredible service and few, if any, fees. Recently, when I moved to a new community, I learned that "community" credit unions are open to anyone who lives in the community. The one I joined has given me free checking since I turned 62. <br /><br />Credit unions are "membership" organizations and members attend annual meetings where they have input into such things a lending policies, execution of "due diligence" practices and so on. If you want more involvement, you can run for the credit unions board of directors. <br /><br />I think that Credit Unions represent community financial investment at its best.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
