China is unwilling to let the value of the yuan "float" and be determined though the normal forces of trade and currency trading. If the American government does plan to make a stand, it has no better time that to do it now to strengthen its level of exports and use that to help the US economy recover.
Global currency warsParaghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06252372041858393646noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-53246864840716464.post-50380153486960908582010-10-04T15:11:59.786-07:002010-10-04T15:11:59.786-07:00At least with respect to Brazil, you're comple...At least with respect to Brazil, you're completely wrong. the real, Brazil's currency, has never been so valued in relation to the American dollar.
marc flav
dumaracah@gmail.comAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-53246864840716464.post-14908540457225404532010-10-03T13:18:52.824-07:002010-10-03T13:18:52.824-07:00"The bottom line is that there really is a tr..."The bottom line is that there really is a trade imbalance with China which needs to be addressed over some reasonable time-frame."

This is not the "bottom line" as the author suggests.

In fact, -that line- is about as far from being "the bottom line" of the real difficulties facing humanity -as anyone can get-.

It is almost like saying -if we can straighten out the economic problems as they are currently conceived, Utopian bliss is finally within our conceptual-grasp -if not completely allowing our actual participation in such a wonderful thing as all that implies -to the brain-dead readers who read his stuff without wondering what planet this is, -really-.

I have read Ludwig von Mises -Human Action, a Treatise on Economics- cover to cover. It is for the most part mindless drivel -given what is known, -and what is occurring -today- on this planet.

Our conceptual grasp is so utterly deficient -these conceptual solutions being bandied about by all these Cracker Jack box intellectuals -read like the answers one gets from the young ladies at the beauty contest -when asked by Bob Barker- what plans they have for the future.

"Oh! Well... I'm for world peace -AND- ending world-hunger."

OMFG, really? What a shocker.

Doesn't anyone remember when all the genetic engineers were telling everyone they were going to cure SuperMan-Reeves spinal cord injury with stem cell research?

She's lying about what she has in mind for the future! She wouldn't cross the street to end world-hunger or affect world peace.

She's thinking about sex because her hormones are raging and everyone keeps giving her THAT let's-you-and-me-have-sex look.

As good intentioned as beauty-pagent contestants are -just like everyone on the Internet is good intentioned- I STILL think this blogger is selling everyone a bill of goods tonight.

THESE PROBLEMS we are experiencing are not going away regardless any economic developments.

THESE PROBLEMS are not economic at all.

THESE PROBLEMS are entirely due to our deficient conceptual-approach to solving them.

And THESE PROBLEMS have caught up with us.

Our problems have to do with our unquestioned assumption that we can act like gods with impunity.

-LOL- Just wait a while longer.

The demand for crude oil worldwide has declined every month since before Obama took office.

It's called a deflationary depression. And it's a whopper -the biggest in history.

It's not that the economy is struggling.

Societies worldwide have quite literally -collapsed-.

The collapse is far worse outside this country.

But, Folks, -the Detroit experience has gone coast to coast in past six months. And there is really no sign of this letting up any time soon.

And there IS no good news on the horizon -that isn't being made up by the government-propagandists trying to fend-off the rabid hounds of revolution.

Hold up any single item that says, "Recovery."Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
