I am thankful not only for my family and friends, but also for the millions of Americans and billions of people worldwide working for truth and sanity.
Happy thanksgiving.

→ Thank you for contributing to the conversation by commenting. We try to read all of the comments (but don't always have the time).
→ If you write a long comment, please use paragraph breaks. Otherwise, no one will read it. Many people still won't read it, so shorter is usually better (but it's your choice).
→ The following types of comments will be deleted if we happen to see them:
-- Comments that criticize any class of people as a whole, especially when based on an attribute they don't have control over
-- Comments that explicitly call for violence
→ Because we do not read all of the comments, I am not responsible for any unlawful or distasteful comments.
And a big thanks to you GW for your contributions to the truth and sanity department.

ReplyDeletewe thank you for the time, $$$ and effort that you put into this blog.
ReplyDeleteThankfulness on such an occasion should not be translated into some misanthropic notion that it is within humanity's reach or capacity to achieve some notion of sanity, or grasp even some few, small parcels of truth -without first getting over the humanity-searing blowtorch of the commonly, reckless sense of competence everyone claims.
ReplyDeleteIn the situation of the world today, is there something to brag about? I don't think so.
Today is meant to be a celebration of Thanksgiving.
I hear no one proclaiming their thankfulness for the humility anyone feels, our President, anyone in Congress, members of the press, academics, scientific leaders, business leaders, military leaders, cultural leaders, religious leaders -regardless the great howling need for such humility, which should be accompanied by confessions of a perilous over-confidence.
It is a small, fragile -world of humanity-.
We all made a wrong turn -some time back- if no one has noticed.
I'd be thankful if we all just took the time to admit these small facts.
There is no light at the end of this supposed tunnel. We should turn back.
