BP Gives Unlimited Behind-the-Scenes Access to One Woman, Who Says BP's Response is Fake: Clean-Up Equipment Taken Away as Soon as Officials Leave

Disclaimer: On July 8, 2010, I found a video which may impugn Arnesen's credibility. See below for more.

BP has been given unlimited access to all BP operations and meetings to a Louisiana shrimper's wife named Kindra Arnesen.

As Yves Smith notes:

Arensen appears to have been invited in because she got media coverage earlier in June when CNN covered her efforts to organize wives of Gulf fisherman over concerns about the safety of working on oil cleanup.

In a must-watch video, Arnesen says:

  • BP is given advanced warning when an official is going to show up to any place where there is oil. All assets are deployed. As soon as the official leaves, 75-80% of the assets are removed. BP calls it a "pony and balloons" show.
  • "We are expendable to these people. We do not matter."
  • They're not cleaning it up, they're covering it up.
  • BP is making it impossible for clean-up workers to wear respirators.
  • She saw hundreds of thousands of fish dying, so disoriented by the oil that they crashed into her boat.
  • There is a media blackout.
  • If the country does not stand up and say "no more", this will go global. All of the world's oceans are connected. If not stopped, it will destroy one-third of the world's water.

Former clean-up worker Candy Morris also said the clean-up efforts are just for show, are only cosmetic, and are just for the cameras:

Update: This video of Arnesen reduces her credibility, since she spouts theories such as "mud volcanoes" and tsunamis which I believe are contrary to the science.

  1. But, WHY? In all the media reports, the general feeling is that BP is trying to keep a lid on info related to the oil disaster. So why suddenly pick one random person to show all to... Something smells, well, fishy...

  2. i'm glad for the insight... but am reminded of the axiom 'beware greeks bearing gifts'....

why would bp spend so much treasure in a cover-up and then give this woman 'access' to its machinations?

  3. I clicked this link earlier this afternoon and it was reported that the link was broken. I assume PBS was informed that Ms. Arnesen's comments might be offensive to their corporate sponsor/contributors. The video can be found at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RfkDAxIfcUQ&hd=1.

I also recommend this video that shows that it's raining oil in Louisiana. With the tropical storms coming up, it could be raining oil in a lot more locations very soon. Maybe when it's raining oil over half the US and our crops and water supplies are ruined, people might get over their aversion to small government and their passive acceptance of corporate rule.

  5. The 11 workers who were killed, were ordered from BP headquarters to do procedures that they knew were inherently wrong, but after protest followed by company threats, proceeded to get themselves killed.

No investigation, no records obtained, crime scene unsecured, no charges, and no arrest. There is plenty of cover up though!

  8. Oh yeah, the BP oil volcano is a hoax. All those pictures from space showing where the oil has reached -- part of a conspiracy involving everything from NASA to the National Geographic. The tar balls, aka "BP's diarrhea" appearing on beaches all over the Gulf? Happens every year.

And the Moon landings were a fake. Nazis never ran death camps. The Earth is flat, not round. Plus the Earth does not orbit the Sun; the Sun goes around the Earth...

Honestly, just because someone has a computer and a Blogger handle doesn't make the crap they write worth the electrons it takes to make their words appear on the glowing screen,

  9. The BP Oil gusher is not a hoax. Whoever wrote that has some good points but this Oil Gusher is not a hoax. It is a big mistake. Period. Independent fishermen have been near the site and in the GOM and directly contradict what the hoax gentleman is saying. And these fishermen are my friends. They are concerned and say it is worse than most people realize. As for Iran, the war machine has been doing exercises such as the ones you mentioned for a few years now. Our govts. and leaders and most of humanity is greedy, self-centered and arrogant. Further, please do not send out information that the Oil gusher is a hoax unless you have first-hand information which would include getting in a boat. Some of us love our oceans. As for the woman that got access etc....Information cannot be as controlled as everyone believes. Lord - look at the Collateral Murder video. Just because someone or entity has a lot of power does not mean that they are "good" at holding it. Power structures are crumbling and the first effect of same is usually stuff like this - huge accidents and gross negligence. National Geographic is a govt. paid for shill. Sorry. That has been the case for a long time.

  10. I have serious issues with the comments written by fd_turk812 as he is more than half cynical. Also, use of the word sheeple is a dead give-away for someone who can't be taken seriously. But still, he is working to deceive and obviously succeeded in sending up a smoke screen around what is a very serious issue and he should be warned that more than a few people will see him for who he is. He's just another hustler laughing up his sleeve at the nasty bits he works.

Every time a tremendous catastrophe strikes that affects millions of people, someone of his ilk pops up. Just proves the constancy of human nature. Sad.
