"Poll After Poll Shows That Both National Parties Are Deeply Unpopular With An Electorate Looking For Something New And Different"

As I noted a year ago:

Famed trend forecaster Gerald Celente is predicting that a third party candidate will be elected President in 2012....

***

The willingness of Obama/Emanuel so blatantly to disappoint those to whom they promised so much (especially young and first-time voters who were most vulnerable to Obama's transformative fairy dust) will lead them either to support a third party or turn off from politics altogether.

***
What About the Right?

The Washington Examiner writes:
The fact that just doesn't register with Washington GOP establishmentarians is that the Tea Party Protests seen around the country in April were aimed as much against them as they were against the tax and spending policies of Obama and the Democratic Congress.
There are millions of libertarians and traditional conservatives (or "paleo-conservatives", in contrast to Neo-conservatives) in the U.S. who are very unhappy with the direction the Republican party has taken in recent years.

Post-Partisan Coalitions

There are many millions of liberals and conservatives who have become disgusted by their parties and have started judging candidates based upon what they are actually doing.

As just one example, there are millions of Americans who would support either Ron Paul as president and Dennis Kucinich as vice president or the other away around. Why? Both challenge the status quo, and have proposed legislation which will actually help the American people.

Conclusion

Based on the above trends, I believe that Celente could be right. A third-party candidate could win in 2012.

Now, a new Gallup poll shows that the majority of Americans - 58% - say that both the Republicans and Democrats are doing such a poor job representing the people that a new, third party is needed.

And even the Washington Post writes:

Poll after poll shows that both national parties are deeply unpopular with an electorate looking for something new and different.

Pundits claim that the Republicans will gain quite a few Congressional seats in November. But even if they do, it doesn't mean that Republicans are regaining popularity.

As the Post article notes:

[Pollster Glen Bolger said]: "This is the first time where there has ever been data like this - where the party poised to take control has not improved its image ...."
Indeed, the American people are acting like a guy standing on hot sand hopping back and forth from one foot to the other. He doesn't like how the burning sand feels on either the left foot or the right foot.

He just knows he's getting burned, and can't wait to get wait to get somewhere cooler. The American people know they're being burned by both parties, who are serving the big banks and military-industrial complex at the expense of the little guy.

Come 2012, the American voter might sprint off of the hot sand of big-money-parties-fleecing-the-little-guy altogether for more welcoming turf: a party which does more than just talk populism, but actually stands up to the powers-that-be.

  1. Third party candidates most often determine the vile winner. They do not regularly become winners themselves.

But, this is not always the case.

I am toying with the idea of running myself, or more appropriately -forming a new political party to choose a functional candidate.

The guy I want to be President in 2012 should be ready to have the entire Congress (past-and-present members included), every judge, every executive branch of government employee past-and-present above an assistant-whatever, and every banker and Wall Street broker in the country IMMEDIATELY ARRESTED, CHARGED, AND TRIED FOR TREASON.

Those of you -who think I am joking- would be the most likely supporters I expect would rush to the rallies.

    Why?

Because when the National Bureau of Economic Research says, the "Recession ended in June 2009"

    these aren't just lies.

This is a dangerously deceptive subterfuge that must have some incredibly horrific news behind its rationale -so incredibly bad- that what is coming -is going to make everything up until now- look like the good old days.

  2. All I have to say is... Ron Paul 2012

He is the only guy America can trust to do the job right.

  3. The grim, totalitarian pirates have taken over and marched the bound fair maiden of Liberty out on the plank and there is no chance of saving her now, short of revolution before 2012.

I do support any third party to break the one party system of World Banksters and Big Oil that owns and controls the Republican and Democrat factions.

Personally, I think the sociopaths in charge would blow up the World rather than give up their power and control.

  4. Go Ron Paul!

Our only hope is to slay the military industrial complex and its chief financier, the Federal Reserve. So long as these twin monsters exist, government will continue to have the raw and absolute power to suck the life, liberty and prosperity right out of America.

  5. Socialists are trying to get a Mass Party of Labor going under the (quite reasonable) premise: "The Bosses Have Two Parties: We Need One of Our Own". They are running in the two Carolinas (under two different tags) I understand.

They say much of what you are saying here but focus on the class dimension of the problem (i.e. most voters are workers, most bipartisan politicians are wealthy bloodsuckers):

"The fact is, both the Democrats and the Republicans are controlled by the tiny minority that lives off the wealth it gets by exploiting the workers. It should therefore come as no surprise that despite this or that difference on this or that issue, they promote and implement policies that benefit the interests of their largest financial contributors. Without a mass political party of our own to defend our interests, workers are forced to fight against the attacks of big business with one hand tied behind our backs".

  6. Can any 3rd party candidate get on ballots nationwide without that also being manipulated by the very same people who rig and control the two party system?

  7. Kenric,

They can't even get on a statewide ballot in Pennsylvania. All three alternate party candidates for Gov, Senate, and Lieu Gov, had to withdraw from the ballot (Green, Libertarian and Tea), because of the threat of legal challenges to signatures on their petitions. In PA, if a challenge is successful, you must pay all legal fees. Plus, third party candidates need 20,000 signatures, while D and R candidates only need 2,000 IIRC.

  8. Although I believe the US Empire to be unfixable (what's the chances of firing the incumbents in congress per fireCongress.org, electing Ron Paul, and getting the foxes like Monsanto Vilsack out from guarding the USDA henhouse?), there is another option.

    Secession.

Lakotah, the Second Republic of Vermont, the Republics of Cascadia, Texas, Alaska, Hawai'i.

Forty-odd Independent candidates for 2010 in Vermont for the Legislature, Governor & Lt. Governor. More than smoke. The corporate media are doing their best to keep it under wraps, but the desire for independence, liberty and self-determination is growing.

  9. a 3rd party or indy candidate could win and the public never know it. A huge percentage of votes (not ballots) in the US are now cast on unreliable, unverifiable, unaccountable DREs, or ballots are read by equally unreliable and unaccountable optical scanners.

This is the data used for the electoral vote, and this is the data on which the Feds and the corpse media will base their announcement of the winner. Most of the people involved in the process will not be able to tell if anything untoward happened- many will simply take it on faith- and many of them know which side of their bread is buttered, anyway.

In addition, all pre-election and exit polling is done by the corpse media, who never release their raw data- as if they can be trusted to report the truth anyway.

fwiw, though, two 2008 pre-election polls by MSNBC showed Nader getting 6% in a race w/ him, Obama and McCain.

  10. "Poll After Poll Shows That Both National Parties Are Deeply Unpopular With An Electorate Looking For Something New And Different"

Oh really? I doubt it. Come up with something "new and different," and the electorate will tell you how stupid it is. For instance: Monetary Sovereignty

Open mindedness is not common a feature of the electorate or of those commenting on blogs.
