Would They Be Planning to Use Troops Against Americans If They WEREN'T Stealing Our Money?

Political science professor at the University of Texas at El Paso Charles Boehmer points out that "The military was not called out during the Great Depression...."

So why is the military planning on how to crush civil protest in regards to the current economic crisis (see this, this, this, this, this and this)?

Is it because the theft - via "bailouts" and other hanky-panky by Treasury, the Fed and others - of hard-earned taxpayer wealth is so obvious that the military expects Americans to revolt?

The other potential explanation is that the military has been told that this financial crisis could be much, much worse than the Great Depression.

So which is it? The obviousness of the theft or the severity of the crisis?

My guess . . . both.

  1. I agree that both is the problem as we have not seen the big rip stuff yet. Our big hope is the it will hold off till Obama is president and he is able to sooth us savage beasts. There are lots of moves Obama could make and quick like Nationalize the banks and take our money back. Then throw it all into infrastructure. If they can actually find the money. 600 billion or so is in bank reserves so roughly we have to find about 7 trillion.

The big question in my mind is would the troops actually fire on us? If their moms and dads are starving I think not. Most troops know how to do an about face all you have to do is add the word fire.

  2. Actually the military WAs called out during the Great Depression - look up what happened to the Bonus Army, a group of WWI Vets who tried petitioning the government for payment of the bonuses they were promised upon enlistment. Hoover had MacArthur wipe the streets of Washington DC with them. So yes, the U.S. military will shoot U.S. veterans; it will shoot regular citizens even more so.

  3. Only the ones they are sure will shoot civilians will be on the line. Some units have received special training for this. And of course the bloody Marines will shoot anyone, including their own grandmothers, that they are told to shoot. The food riots will start in the ghettos of Detroit, L.A and New Orleans. After shooting dark skinned sand n.....s, domestic n.....s will be no problem for them. The troops will, of course, be very well fed.

  4. Armies can't beat insurgents. Haven't we learned that lesson a few times before.

  5. In 2007, 1.7 million Americans lost their homes to foreclosure.

In 2008, that number increased to 2.5 million.

In 2009, that number is bound to increase.

That's a lot of people w/o a roof over their heads. People who are getting desperate.

When enough of us are living in the streets, fighting each other over food scraps in the Dempsey Dumpster, maybe we'll wake up and realize we've been had... BIG TIME.

And don't hold your breath for Obama.

He's just another Bush, with a kinder and gentler delivery.

They say that there are two types of people in the world, those that own guns and those that are victims.

    Don't be a victim.

  6. Prepare now, Resist now, as we chanted in the Corp: "THE MORE YOU SWEAT, THE LESS YOU BLEED". Do not wait until they are kicking in your door, or you are trying to bandage your child, or other loved one.
